Delete Your Account - Meme Soundboard

1 Before You Start

Deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted, your published soundboards, uploaded audio clips, uploaded images, public profile and watch pairings cannot be recovered. If you only want to take a break, you can simply uninstall the app instead.

You may want to do the following before deleting:

Download or back up any custom audio clips you uploaded — once deleted, they are removed from our Storage and we cannot retrieve them.
Note that other users who already have your public boards on their watch will keep their local cached copies. Your boards will no longer be discoverable in the Browse catalog, but cached audio on another user’s watch will remain until they remove the board themselves.
If you only want to remove a specific soundboard rather than your entire account, open the board in My Boards and tap Delete board.

2 Method 1 — Delete From Inside the App

In-app self-service Fastest

This is the recommended method. It only works if you can still sign in to the app.

Open Meme Soundboard on your phone.
Make sure you are signed in (anonymous accounts can also be deleted — the option is available regardless of sign-in method).
Tap your avatar or the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen.
Tap Settings (gear icon, top-right).
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
Read the confirmation dialog, then type DELETE to confirm.
Tap Confirm deletion.

You will be signed out immediately. Your account, uploaded boards, audio files, images and public profile are queued for removal and deleted from our systems within 24 hours. Backup copies are overwritten within 60 days.

3 Method 2 — Delete by Email

Email request If locked out

Use this method if you have lost access to the app, lost your device, or otherwise cannot sign in.

Send an email from the email address linked to your Meme Soundboard account.
Use the subject line: Delete my Meme Soundboard account
In the body, include:
- Your display name as it appears in the app (helps us match the account)
- The approximate date you created the account, if you remember it
- Any public soundboard titles you created (optional, but helps verification if you signed up with Google rather than email)

We respond to deletion requests within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days of verification. We may ask for additional information to confirm you own the account before we proceed.

4 What Gets Deleted

When we process a deletion request, the following data is removed from our active systems:

                About aggregated stats: Total and weekly download counters on public boards (e.g. “1,243 downloads”) are not personally identifiable and are retained as part of the public catalog’s usage history. They do not reveal which users contributed to those counts.
            

5 Timing

In-app deletion: active data removed within 24 hours.
Email deletion: request acknowledged within 5 business days; active data removed within 30 days of verification.
Backups: any data still present in encrypted backups is overwritten within a further 60 days.
Locally cached audio on other users’ watches: we cannot remotely delete files already cached on third-party devices — those copies are removed when that user removes the board from their watch.

6 Cancelling a Deletion Request

If you change your mind, you can cancel a deletion request before it is processed by replying to our acknowledgement email. Once deletion is complete, we cannot restore your account, boards or uploads — you would need to start over by creating a new account.

7 Third-Party Services

Deleting your Meme Soundboard account removes your data from our systems. It does not affect:

Your Google account — if you signed in with Google, we delete the link between your Google account and Meme Soundboard, but your Google account itself stays intact. To remove our app from your Google account permissions, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Google Play purchase records — if Meme Soundboard adds in-app purchases in the future, Google retains purchase history for tax and refund purposes independently of our app.
App copies on your devices — uninstall the phone and watch apps separately if you also want to remove them.
