RateWatch — Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account (optional). If you sign in with email or Google, your email address and a user id (Firebase Authentication). Smart Alerts can also create an anonymous account with no personal details.
• Your mortgage details (optional). What you enter in My Mortgage (for example your renewal date and rate), saved to your account so we can send renewal reminders.
• Alerts. Your rate alerts and preferred language, and a device notification token so we can send them (Firebase Cloud Messaging). When you describe a Smart Alert in your own words, that text is sent to Google's Gemini AI to turn it into an alert.
• Callback requests. If you ask to be called about a rate, your name, phone number, optional email and note, and the rate you were looking at, so the request can be followed up.
• Usage and crashes. Anonymous app usage events (for example which screens are used) through Firebase Analytics, and crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics, to fix problems and improve the app.
• Install source (Android). Once, which link or campaign led to the install (Google Play install referrer), with a random install id.

Who processes it

Google (Firebase, Gemini, Google Play) on our behalf. Data is stored on Google Cloud servers, which may be outside Canada.

Keeping and deleting it

We keep account data while you have an account. To delete your account and everything linked to it, email support@watchland.app from the address you signed in with; we delete it within 30 days. Callback requests are deleted once handled, or after 12 months.

Rates are information, not advice

RateWatch shows published rates and estimates. It is not a lender or a mortgage broker, and nothing in it is financial advice.

Children

RateWatch is not directed at children under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
